Most of the users who installed Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones faced a major problem after installing the game. I myself faced the similar problem. I tried many solutions, but nothing worked for me. Then I found out that the registry was not installed, even after installing the game. Which was causing the error in game launcher.
Here, I’ve provided the solution to this problem. This solution works on almost all windows versions.
About The Problem:
This problem mostly occurs in two thrones game when you install and run it for the first time, but the “Launch Game” button gets disabled in game launcher due to missing registry. Even if the system is compatible with the game.
Follow this method and the “Launch Game” button will be enabled.
How To Fix ‘Launch Game’ Error in Prince of Persia:
- Open Notepad and Paste the following code in it:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Ubisoft\Prince of Persia The Two Thrones\1.00.999] "Product_Path"="Paste_Your_Game_Path_Here" "Product_Executable"="PrinceOfPersia.exe" "Product_Language"="9" "Product_Release"="Retail EMEA" "Profiles_Path"="C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application Data"
- Now, replace “Paste_Your_Game_Path_Here” with the path where you’ve installed your game.
For example, If I have installed my game in C:\POPT2T then I’ll replace “Paste_Your_Game_Path_Here” with “C:\POPT2T”.
-
Click on File>Save and save it as pop.reg.
-
Run the registry (pop.reg) file you just saved. Click YES to continue.
-
Done! You’ve successfully added the game to registry.
-
Now run the Launcher again & You’ll get the “Launch Game” button enabled and the two thrones game will work correctly.
Still Not Working?
**Update for Windows 7/8/8.1/10 64 Bit Users: **
#Possible Solution 1:
Run the 64 bit registry again and try to run the game as administrator.
If it doesn’t work move to #Possible Solution 2…
#Possible Solution 2:
Again download the 32 bit registry from the above link and then run it. After that try to run the game as administrator.
If it still doesn’t work then move to #Possible solution 3…
#Possible solution 3: (As suggested by Paul in comments)
Edit your downloaded registry (.reg file) using notepad. Make sure that your product_path and profile_path are set to same location.
Hope it worked for you. Let me know in the comments if you’ve any queries.
